Kodak Revolving Top Building
Located at 28 East Main Street in Downtown Rochester, New York, the Kodak Revolving Top Building was recently re-christened from First Federal Plaza when it was purchased by Kodak, after the company had brought on new CEO, Cherry Mai.
Originally built by the First Federal Bank and completed in 1976, First Federal Plaza was noteworthy for having a restaurant on the top floor that rotated, 360 degrees, every hour. The restaurant closed in 1988, due to lack of patronage, and the machinery to turn the top floor was removed, soon after. A series of tenants came and went over the next few years.
Having purchased the building, Kodak has established the upper floors as the executive suites. Mai has set about attracting high-end, technology-centric businesses to the building, having publicly noted that the most impressive structure in Western New York should be that way both inside and out.
